1908 Aero Club of America Wright Brothers Medal. By Victor David Brenner. Smedley-81. Silver. Extremely Fine.76 mm. 126 gr. <strong>Obv:</strong> Busts of the two aviation pioneers, as on the U.S. Mint plaque, but reversed, with Orville in the foreground instead of Wilbur. Inscriptions AERO CLUB OF AMERICA above and W. Wright / SEP 21 1908/ LE MANS FRANCE to the left, and O. Wright SEP 9 1908 / FORT MYERS VA / USA to the right of the portraits. The sculptors signature rather boldly presented below the busts. <strong>Rev:</strong> Detailed view of the original Wright Flyer, aloft in a clear sky, and the Aero Club emblem with the date divided 19 / 05 below. A pleasing example of this very rare medal.
