民国二十一年孙中山像背帆船下三鸟金本位半圆银币试铸样币一枚，K-629/LM-105，齿边，上海中央造币厂试铸，未发行，金本位样币是中国货币史特殊历史时期的产物，历来是老一辈收藏家最为珍视的品种，存世屈指可数，其中半圆较壹圆主币更为稀少；此枚铸模深峻，通体均匀浅灰色包浆，光泽古润，状态极佳；香港著名钱币收藏家黄华枢、台湾资深钱币专家陈吉茂递藏，流传有绪，NGC-ACAB MS62，目前获该公司评级入盒者仅此一枚民国十八年，国民政府聘请美国财经专家甘末尔来华，调查财政币制等状况，并代立法案。此由专家组成之甘末尔委员会随即拟就《中国逐渐实行金本位币制法草案》，建议中国应实行金本位制，但仅须规定货币价值的单位，没有必要铸造金币。货币之种类则规划为一圆、半圆及二毫、一毫银币，半毫之镍币，一仙、半仙及二厘铜币。与此同时，新建之上海造币厂已竣工，并进行新国币的设计。新国币正面之孙中山肖像采用民国十八年比稿时意大利雕刻师莫蒂所雕刻图样，背改为双桅帆船，模具委请美国费城造币厂总雕刻师辛诺克制作。此金本位系列新币付诸试制时，一毫以上均为银币，半毫、二仙为有中圆孔的镍币，另四分之一仙（二厘）者，因体积太小无法雕成被剔除。甘末尔的金本位币制计划因不适合中国遭致各界反对，终未实行。根据赫维德之说法，金本位币壹圆原本设计与后来的量产船洋相似，惟国民政府以青天白日为国民党徽，欲将之镂刻于币面，因此加上旭日与象征三民主义的三只海鸥，又因财政部要求将“金本位”字样标示其上，故再将海鸥移到水面。也就是说，船洋各式币问世之顺序，恰与原始设计之构思相反。后国民政府在民国廿二年正式公布“废两改元”的银本位币制，发行剔除“金本位币”字样、俗称“三鸟”的壹圆银币。(世华)

CHINA. Dollar Pattern Modified From 50 Cents, Year 21 (1932). Artists Model Struck in Silver.L&M 105 (model for 112); K-629 (model for 625k); KM-Pn130 (model for Pn146). Modified as a sample for the design of year 24 (1935). Reeded edge. The gold standard was designed by Clifford Hewitt, chief mechanical engineer for the U.S. mint in Philadelphia.Hewitt was highly involved in the constructing and equipping of the mint in Shanghai. Contracted by the Chinese government, he served as technical mint expert for the Shanghai mint project from 1920 until 1933. A collection of Hewitts original correspondences, documents, telegrams, and letters pertaining to this series is housed in the American Numismatic Societys archival collection in New York.<br />The dies for the gold standard series were prepared by Chief Engraver of the Philadelphia mint John R. Sinnock. Essay specimens of the gold standard series were struck in Philadelphia and then sent to Shanghai for inspection. However upon receipt, Chinese officials decided it was desirable to make modifications to the design. Specifically to remove the rising sun, as it could be easily confused with the national emblem of Japan, as well as the flying birds, as they could be construed as Japanese warplanes. This combined with the rising price of silver in the world marker, caused the Chinese officials to focus on the production of a "small module: silver series of reduced weight standard. The design for the new "small module" silver series was chosen from adapting Hewitt and Sinnocks original design by removing the upper legend and changing the denomination from 50 cents to 1 Dollar. Hand-made artists models of such coins were produced via altering some of the original sample sent from Philadelphia. Upon completion they were sent back to Philadelphia along with correspondence stating what corrections were to be made to the design. Although Kann states that the 1935 small module pattern was produced in Shanghai, this is incorrect. The finished patterns were actually produced in Philadelphia. Along with Clifford Hewitts original correspondence, the American Numismatic Society collection also contains one of these patterns. This cataloger had the privilege of examining the pattern first hand, and noted that the ANS pattern has a dually reeding edge. The form of anti counterfeiting security edge for the period, and one of the Shanghai mint did not have technology to produce at this time.EXTREMELY FINE.

民国二十一年（1932年）孙中山像金本位币半圆银币样币（LM105），极为罕见，五彩银光，完全未使用

民国二十一年（1932年）国民政府推行新式货币制度，仍采纳甘末尔氏的金本位币制，欲全国实施，仍命当时之中央造币厂（即今上海造币厂）试铸第一套金本位。其中面值分为壹圆、半圆、贰角、壹角四种为银质。半毫、贰仙二种面值为镍质。壹仙面值为黄铜。以此形成一整套的金本位币钱币家族。计划推行之际，因不适合中国当时的国情，遭致各界的强力反对，因此胎死腹中，终未采行。

金本位币银质样币设计为正面孙中山肖像，采用民国十八年帆船银币意大利版之孙中山侧面像，背面图案则采用中央造币厂美籍总技师赫维特（CLIFFORD HEWITT）设计的双桅帆船，航行于海上，船右侧东升旭日，水波纹上有三鸟飞翔，上边金本位币壹圆（或半圆、贰角、壹角），整体构图精美非常。其铸币模具则委请美国费城造币厂总雕刻师辛诺克（JOHN SINNOCK）担纲雕制，在中央造币厂（今上海造币厂）铸造。

金本位银质样币制作精美，存世量稀少，向为钱币收藏界所看重，是我国人像银币中之大名誉品。其存世数量中之半圆者（即伍角币）所见估计不超过七枚。减去博物馆的收藏（上海博物馆藏有二品，分别为李伟先、施嘉斡二位大藏家捐赠），民间流传者不过五品。较之面值壹圆者更少。故其珍贵，可见一斑。

出品此枚金本位币半圆银质样币者，为海外资深藏家。此枚品相保存之完美，几近无懈可击。打铸深峻，图文清晰，版底没有丝毫划伤，币边马齿锐利，币面呈现银粉色光芒，熠熠生辉，是传世所见金本位半圆银质样币中品相最为完美者。
